Just a few weeks ago, a customer called us and asked us if we could make a special T-Shirt Quilt for her as a gift for her loved one before Christmas. Although I was pretty well booked, my husband John said he would have time to help me complete the quilt, and have it done before Christmas. T-Shirt quilts make wonderful gifts, as was this one, now completed. Much like a memory quilt (with pictures on the quilt top) T-shirt quilts bring back those warm memories of that loved one and times spent together, while adding warmth while the the quilt is in use. This is just one of many possible quilt top patterns, and in this case, just what our customer wanted. John and I both enjoy sharing the joys of Christmas with our very special customers!
John and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Although life is full of challenges of all sorts, it brings peace to our hearts to know that we have Jesus Christ in our home and in our lives. We pray that this Christmas season will bring you closer to our savior, that you may know Him better and better.
May God bless you and keep you safe.
Recently I completed a custom quilted bedroom package including a custom quilt, throw pillows, and bed skirt that you see in my customer’s picture here. The package also included custom pillow shams not shown in this picture. If you have interest in a bedroom custom made quilting package, I also piece and custom quilt curtains or drapes to match your interior design. In this package, I pieced all the various options mentioned and custom quilted them, including all finish edge binding, complete and ready to use. I have also discussed a custom wall hanging to match this bedroom set or for decoration in another room with my customer Judy. A special thanks to Judy for supplying this photograph of her completed quilt set!
Please feel free to contact my about your custom quilting interests.
Thanks for your comments and posts! We appreciate your thoughts, ideas and feedback. I would like to ask that you limit your posts to the subject of quilting, quilt art, quilt piecing, hand or machine quilting, sewing, fabric and other notions directly related to quilts and quilt making. I have had some postings from folks who are in other industries, selling or advertising their products. My blog followers want blog content that is relivent to life as a quilter. Thanks, Pam
Several of you have expressed and interested in fabric painting recently. So, I would like to invite you to participate in my upcoming fabric painting class, on Saturday March 10, 2012, at 9:30 am, here at my home/shop in Caldwell.
In this class we will learn about fabric, and paints that can be used on whole-cloth quilts, clothing, quilt blocks and other custom items you would like to design and make in the future. I plan to explore the best fabrics, paints and painting techniques to use so that the fabric can be washed after the painting process is completed without loss of paint or color. I will also discuss what I have learned about fabric washing techniques or procedures.
Please contact me if you have questions about this upcoming class. I hold a limited size class and have room for 2 more this weekend. If you plan to attend, please let me know as soon as you can.
The cost of the class will be $25 and will include a quilted sample for you to paint and keep, similar to the one you see in this post. Plus I will supply you with paint applicator brushes and paint to use to paint your sample. I have room for 6-8 students per class.
I look forward to hearing from you! I hope you can come!
